0:00:13 Tansy Rodgers: Welcome back to the Energy Fix, where we are doing a special crystal series starting right now and spanning over the next eight weeks. Here at the Energy Fix, we explore the subtle magic and sacred science of energy healing, functional wellness and the deep unraveling that really comes when you say yes to living at your fullest, truest self. And if you don’t know me, I’m your host, Tansy Rogers, a functional nutritional therapy practitioner, certified crystal healer, energy worker and an intuitive coach.
0:00:52 Tansy Rodgers: And I have split spent the last 20 years blending the physical, the energetic and the spiritual to really help those reconnect with their bodies, to reclaim their vitality and realign with who they truly are. Listen, I have walked right beside you. I’ve walked through burnout, chronic stress and the quote unquote good girl trap of over giving people pleasing. It’s what I’ve done the majority of my life.
0:01:24 Tansy Rodgers: It is what I’ve done as a neurodivergent woman, masking and trying to understand how to manage who she really is. To try to understand that it’s okay to say no. To try to understand that there is something real and valuable about boundary setting. And honestly, what I have found over the years is one thing in particular that would elude me over and over and over again and that was how to ground and root myself.
0:01:59 Tansy Rodgers: Because I did not understand what was going on within my body and my energy field and my brain. I had no idea. And just that simple understanding that I needed to do even more in grounding myself. Bringing healing into my life, managing the chronic stress and the burnout that I was so prone to as who I innately am, it was invaluable. And so I wanted to create this series to really help you to step forward, to know how to manage your body on so many different levels. To manage your heart, your mind, your soul on so many different levels so that you can bring healing closer into your heart, into your life and into your evolution.
0:02:53 Tansy Rodgers: You know, healing isn’t just about doing less, it’s really about remembering more. And that was one of the things that I’ve learned over this own healing journey of my own. More of who you are, more of what you need, more of what your energy is actually asking for. That’s true healing. And that’s what this series is really all about. For us to connect and dive deeper and for you to really step into that magnificent genius that lives within your soul.
0:03:30 Tansy Rodgers: The evolution of yourself. This is the evolution of self. A crystal infused soul led journey through the chakras of the soul not just the physical, not just the energetic, but the deeper layers of who, who you’re becoming. And so each week we’re going to explore a different layer of your inner world. I’m going to share crystals to support you. I’m going to share deeper, energetic insights to help you anchor in and some soul nourishment that you can actually feel, not just understand.
0:04:08 Tansy Rodgers: Because that’s what really matters here, right? That you’re feeling the work happening, not just going through the rhythm and the rituals. So these aren’t just episodes, they’re really transmissions and they’re light codes and they’re activations. And if you’re listening and you want to go deeper into your own healing journey, whether that’s through one on one sessions, intuitive crystal healing, or just finding a supportive piece of jewelry for where you’re at right now.
0:04:39 Tansy Rodgers: Head on over to tansyrodgers.com or, or beocrystals.com and you can find my upcoming events with different ways to work with me. Collections of Reiki infused crystal jewelry. There’s so many resources outside of this right here, so I encourage you to head down to the show notes and head on over to those two places. So, all right, we’re going to get started, we’re going to dive right in, right at the root.
0:05:11 Tansy Rodgers: But before we really dive into the root chakra specifically, let’s ground into the bigger picture because I want to make sure that we are on the same page and that you know exactly what I’m talking about when I use some of these terms. All right, so let’s first talk about the chakra system. The chakra system is made up of seven primary energy centers. Now, even though there’s many, many more, you probably have most likely just been introduced to the seven primary energy centers.
0:05:44 Tansy Rodgers: And these stretch from the base of the spine all the way up to the crown of the head. And each chakra governs a different part of your physical, emotional and energetic well being. And together, when they’re all brought together, when they’re working well together, they form this beautiful blueprint for healing and wholeness. Think of them like the internal architecture of your energy body. So when one center is blocked or overactive, it affects everything else.
0:06:16 Tansy Rodgers: And that’s why we’re really starting at the root, because I want you to get there from the ground up. It’s like building that foundation from the ground up and moving upwards and, and the root chakra is also directly connected to more of our physical human experience. Experience. It’s that safety, the security the foundation, the stability. Right. And so starting here just makes sense so that we’re building from that root, we’re anchoring in and then we’re slowly moving upwards to balance everything else out.
0:06:51 Tansy Rodgers: But the root chakra isn’t just about grounding, it’s really about the complexity of that. So I use the word safety, foundation, security, but it’s really governing the stability and the survival, the relationship with your body and your right to exist here, that worthiness to be here in your body. And so this conversation isn’t just about grounding, it’s about belonging. It’s about is about the moment that your soul says, yes, I choose to be here.
0:07:32 Tansy Rodgers: But for many of us, that choice didn’t feel safe. Maybe you grew up in chaos or maybe you’ve experienced trauma on whatever level that is. Maybe you were always the sensitive one or the black sheep, or the one who never quite felt safe in your body or in your world. And remember, when I speak of traumas or chaos or obstacles, that can be the little T traumas or the big T traumas, the little C chaos or the big C chaos, it’s really about how it affected you mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
0:08:15 Tansy Rodgers: Now, when your root chakra is disrupted, your nervous system, it just can’t quite settle. You stay in this fight flight or freeze mode. Or maybe you fawn, you over, give, you disconnect, you start spiraling in thoughts and feel unsteady in your decisions. And boy, let me tell you, when that is happening, it feels so challenging on all levels. Not just mentally, emotionally, spiritually, energetically, but also physically because of how it affects your physical body.
0:08:51 Tansy Rodgers: And then that just starts this perpetual cycle of not feeling like you’re safe, especially in your body, not feeling like you belong, especially in your environment, not feeling like you are safe and secure, especially in your mental and emotional well being. It’s just this big spiral. So today’s message is super simple, but it’s super soul shifting. And that is you don’t have to earn your right to be here.
0:09:23 Tansy Rodgers: You already belong. You’re allowed to root down into who you are, exactly as you are. Exactly as you are. And that is more than enough. And so this week, to really help you connect into this concept of belonging and rooting down into who you are, I want to introduce you to three of my favorite root chakra allies or crystals that I personally work with in my own practice and in the pieces that I design for my clients. Especially when we’re talking about root chakra health support management.
0:10:12 Tansy Rodgers: And so These three in particular, I have found to be super helpful in just balancing out the whole of that root, allowing you to ground in, but then also depending on the crystal itself, help you to release out some of that energy that maybe you’re grabbing a hold of. You know, if you identify as an empath or a highly sensitive person, this is going to really be super helpful for you in staying grounded and rooted and helping to also then release out some of those energies that maybe you’ve collected along the way.
0:10:48 Tansy Rodgers: So let’s talk about my three favorite favorite crystals for root chakra health number one. And if you know me or talk to me in person, this is going to come as no surprise because I talk about this crystal all the time for this, and it is truly one of my favorites for a very good reason. And that is smoky quartz. It’s because this stone is like this energetic detox. It’s my favorite for energetic detoxing.
0:11:20 Tansy Rodgers: Not only does it ground and root you in, but it also gently pulls stress and overwhelm and dense energy down and out through your body and into the earth. So if your mind races or if you feel like you’re constantly buzzing in your head, Smoky quartz is a really great stone to help you anchor back into your body. And it’s especially powerful for those who’ve been living in survival mode. Or if you feel like your nervous system has been very dysregulated, it helps to teach your nervous system how to release and how to exhale.
0:11:54 Tansy Rodgers: So as for actually working with these, we’re going to do a little bit of a transmission here in a little bit, and I’m going to talk more about how to use these crystals. But I’ll tell you at least for each one of these. But my one favorite way, there’s many. But my one favorite favorite way of how to use these crystals in particular. And then we’ll move on and we’ll talk about more ways to use them. All right, so for smoky quartz in particular, I love taking this one and either putting it between my feet when I’m laying and meditating, or when I have a client onto the table, I’ll put it in between the feet to help release out some of that energetic heaviness that they’re holding onto, or I will take a piece of smoky quartz. I love using a point for this one that I’m about to say, taking a piece of smoky quartz and placing it into my right hand, my giving away side of my energy, placing it into my right hand so that it is helping to release out some of that energetic heaviness.
0:12:58 Tansy Rodgers: I love using a point here and taking the point and directing it away from my body because that helps to draw that energy out through the smoky quartz and pushing it out the point through that tip. So that’s my favorite way to use smoky quartz. Now let’s move on to the next one. The next one is Red Jasper. Red Jasper is this stone of strength, blood, memory and slow sustainable power. I always think of Red Jasper being very grounding, but also energizing and almost like it is that support system for your red blood cells right now. I did say that Red Jasper does give you energy, like it energizes, but not in the same sense as something like a tiger’s eye or maybe a sun stone.
0:13:55 Tansy Rodgers: Red Jasper doesn’t hype you up, it grounds you in to give you that support and that base while still giving you then that energy because you are grounding in. I hope that makes sense. Red Jasper also just helps you to get to the core of who you are. It helps to remind you that you are part of something older and wiser than your current. Stressors lead you to think that your roots are deeper than your fears.
0:14:27 Tansy Rodgers: And that is another reason why I love Red Jasper so much. Because it just is such a solid anchor helping you to push past your fears and that stress. It’s really ideal for restoring that energy after burnout or building back trust in your physical body. It helps to pull that energy past your fears, past your stressors, get back in touch with who you really are. It is also one of the main stones that I love using in my therapeutic jewelry, especially when designing for people who need endurance, not just energy.
0:15:06 Tansy Rodgers: That’s the key here. Red Jasper is about creating endurance. And so one of my favorite ways to use Red Jasper, especially for this reason is to hold it into my receiving side, into my left hand, close my eyes and just take a moment to connect in with the stone itself. But also while visualizing in my mind’s eye the color of the stone. And if you do struggle with the visualization part, you can keep your eyes open and stare at the stone itself.
0:15:37 Tansy Rodgers: But visualizing or looking at that color of stone and just envisioning that, that red really bubbling up within me, not necessarily creating passion, but creating that endurance and that energy and that support and allowing it to connect into the root of who I am, visualizing it being right at my root chakra. I also, especially with Red Jasper, love to carry it into my left pocket because my left pocket is right there. At my root.
0:16:13 Tansy Rodgers: So it’s going to be in a perfect alignment to be able to directly interact with the energy from my root chakra. All right, let’s move on to my third favorite root crystal, and that is black tourmaline. So many of my pieces of jewelry that I work with and, and recommendations when it comes to root chakra stones is black tourmaline. I talk about it all the time, but it just, it just makes sense. So if you think about black tourmaline, it’s like an energetic armor.
0:16:50 Tansy Rodgers: Not hard or rigid, but protective and wise. And it doesn’t just block energy, it helps to transform it. That is a huge piece here. It’s not necessarily putting a shield up. It’s helping to allow it to come in, be absorbed, and then transform, transmute it into something that is not going to weigh heavily on you. Black tourmaline helps to filter out the noise and the fear, while also strengthening your sense of energetic sovereignty.
0:17:23 Tansy Rodgers: If you’re someone who’s sensitive to other people’s energies, environments, you feel like you identify with being an empath, highly sensitive, or you feel like you’re constantly on edge. Black tourmaline will help you to really re establish those boundaries between you and the outside world. So when it comes to black tourmaline and one of my favorite ways of working with it, it’s really about almost like a barrier in between you and that part of your outside world that maybe feels like it’s a little heavy, like it’s invading, chaotic.
0:18:00 Tansy Rodgers: Maybe you have some energy vampires in your field. This is a great way to use black tourmaline. I just had a client a couple weeks ago where she came to me because she felt like she was having a few energetic and psychic attacks, and she needed to get some energy healing work done to remove that, to balance her back out, to help her figure out what was going on. And so, as her and I worked together and we got her energy field balanced back out, she said to me, what do I do now, though?
0:18:32 Tansy Rodgers: What do I do to be able to see, support this ongoing process and healing that I’ve been on with you and, you know, how do I shield, reflect, manage some of this heavier energy that’s coming in? And so as we chatted, I recommended to her to take a piece of black tourmaline and to put it in between her and her computer. So most of her work is on the computer when she’s working with clients who were at that time, some of her heaviest hitters in the chaotic energy that was coming into her Every single day.
0:19:10 Tansy Rodgers: And so I recommended that she takes this piece of black tourmaline, sets it on her desk in between her and the screen, and allows that to absorb that energy coming in and transmute, transform it into something that is not going to affect her as hard. And so she’s been doing that. And she said that she feels like she just has a little bit of a protective barrier, but at the same time, she feels more solid in her feet, solid in herself.
0:19:39 Tansy Rodgers: And so that is probably. You can work with black tourmaline in many different ways, but that is probably one of my favorite ways to use it as that piece in between you and the outside world. Now, there’s so many other crystals that help to root and ground you in, and I love all of them equally. But I will say that these three stand out to me as being tried and true in my own crystal healing world and in my own world myself, when I am working with crystals personally.
0:20:14 Tansy Rodgers: But, you know, even these three, you may be really curious, well, how do I choose? How do I know which crystal to start with? And it’s really quite simple. Let your body decide. Hold each one of them. See which one makes you breathe deeper. See which one makes maybe your feet tingle or your energy, your body just kind of feel lighter. Maybe your thoughts start to calm down, your heart starts to expand a little bit or feel lighter, Your body just feels lighter. That’s your guide.
0:20:52 Tansy Rodgers: Let your body decide. And if you really struggle with feeling into your body and you’re still not quite sure, then I would say one of two things. Number one, whichever one resonates with with you the most, if one of them stands out more, either visually or through the descriptions today that we just talked about, go with that one. If one of them just seems like you just want to start there and you’re not quite sure, why go with that one?
0:21:21 Tansy Rodgers: You really can’t choose wrong. You really can’t. But if you want to be more intentional with it, then I would say put that intention behind your choosing practice and either let your body or the stone itself call out to you and tell you exactly what you need. All right, let’s take a moment and just really anchor ourselves in. Let’s anchor into the energy and start this day, this moment, this next part of your life, off with a different energy.
0:21:58 Tansy Rodgers: So I would love for you to close your eyes. If it is safe to close your eyes wherever you’re at, if you’re driving, please don’t close your eyes. But I want you to take that moment and just Connect into yourself. If you are at a point right now that you cannot do that, if you cannot safely connect in with yourself, then please hit pause and come back to to this. Because this is an important part of connecting back in with who you are.
0:22:32 Tansy Rodgers: But if you are able to continue on, then let’s do that. Let’s drop in together. Feel your feet on the floor, Both feet rooted, grounded onto the floor. Maybe feel the floor underneath you. Feel how it feels on the sensation of your feet. Wiggle your toes. Let your spine grow long but loose, expanding the spine and the neck and the head towards the sky. Keeping your hips rooted into your seat. Breathe into your belly, letting your belly expand as you breathe in.
0:23:26 Tansy Rodgers: Exhale and let the belly pull back. And doing that again. Breathe into your belly, letting it expand. Exhale and pull the belly back in, releasing that energy, releasing that caught breath. Maybe. Put your hands over your root chakra right at the tailbone at the base of your spine and repeat gently. I am safe to land. I am safe to be. The earth holds me even when I don’t know what comes next. Take a deep breath in through the belly, letting it expand and exhaling out, letting everything release, pulling the belly back in.
0:24:41 Tansy Rodgers: Feeling your toes wiggle, your feet firmly on the ground. Feeling your legs, your thighs, your hips. Feeling your tailbone rooted into the seat. Feeling your spine extending and expanding all the way up to the sky, letting the neck expand, the head expand upwards, the shoulders back. Remember, you don’t have to be ready. You don’t have to be healed. You just have to be here, right now, in this space and in this moment.
0:25:35 Tansy Rodgers: That’s what roots do. They don’t rush. They anchor you in, visualize or feel a big beautiful root system coming out of your tailbone or out of your feet, coming down into the earth, dropping, sinking you in, pulling you deeper, deeper into your seat and into the space with which you deserve to be sitting right now. Take a big deep belly breath coming in, letting it one more time expand, pulling all of that healing, rooted energy in.
0:26:24 Tansy Rodgers: And exhale, letting the belly pull in, letting that breath come out through the mouth with a big audible sigh. Letting all of that heavy energy release, that chaos release. And know that you are here. You’re safe. You’re rooted. You’re anchored in. And when you feel ready, you can open up your eyes. Oh, my friend. Here is what I want you to try this week. Carry smoky quartz, red Jasper or black tourmaline with you.
0:27:13 Tansy Rodgers: It can be in a jewelry form. It can be in your pocket Your bra, your bag, however it feels good, however it makes sense. And at the end of the day, hold it in your left, the receiving side, hold it in your hand and ask yourself, where did I try to earn my belonging today? Where did I try to earn my belonging today? And then where did I feel safe without explanation? Where did I feel safe without explanation?
0:28:02 Tansy Rodgers: You can journal this voice, note it, or simply just hold it in your heart, but this is the real intentional connection to helping you to root in. And if your roots feel shaky, lay down, put your hands on your hips, breathe for three minutes. No fixing, just feeling. This will help you to get back into stronger roots and a more balanced root chakra. And now I know that we didn’t talk about all of the details with the root chakra and other ways that you can balance it through foods and colors and through other techniques.
0:28:54 Tansy Rodgers: That’s not what I wanted to do here. At least today for this series, I wanted to specifically talk about crystals and talk about real rooting in through visualization, through breath. Work through allowing yourself to connect into your body. Because yes, we can work with the color red, which is the color of the root chakra. We can eat more grounding foods and meats and allow yourself to connect into the rooting system of the foods that will help to support your root chakra.
0:29:32 Tansy Rodgers: But that’s not what I wanted to do here because sometimes that can just be more routine and ritual that doesn’t actually connect you into your body. I want you to connect into your body today. That’s the most important piece. That’s the true life changing, supportive piece that I have found to be incredibly helpful. If you want extra support, you can head on over to tansyrogers.com or beocrystals.com
0:30:05 Tansy Rodgers: for some intentional root chakra pieces. Or you can come and see me at one of my next in person events and we can connect, getting you set up for whatever level of support you need are ready for right now. I’d love to connect with you face to face, whether it’s at an event, an expo, or even during one of my one on one sessions. That felt so good. Just to take a moment and give permission to be here and to be you and to belong.
0:30:43 Tansy Rodgers: And so next week we’re gonna rise. We’re rising into the sacral chakra, the spark of desire, creation, sensuality. And we’re going to explore what happens when that flame starts to dim and how to reignite it from the inside out. Until then, breathe deep, root deep. And remember, you don’t have to become anything that you’re not. You just have to remember who you’ve always been. Until next time. Keep spreading that beautiful energy you were born to share.
